Mike and Steve started out of a Gaithersburg warehouse in 1991, opened the Olney showroom in 2003, and added Potomac the following spring. The team has been here long enough that customers ask for everyone by name.

Mike and Steve started out of a warehouse in Gaithersburg.
- Carpet and flooring out of an industrial bay on Atlas Drive.
- Wholesale to contractors, measure-and-install to homeowners.
- Still the warehouse we run Products to Go out of today.
- 02Olney, April 2003
The first showroom opened on Village Center Drive.
- Carpet, hardwood, and laminate on racks you could touch.
- The Zanville family has run the place ever since.
- Still the flagship, and still where the awards wall lives.
- 03Potomac, Spring 2004
A second showroom opened on Tuckerman Lane.
- Added within a year of Olney opening.
- Steve Shaffer has run the Potomac showroom ever since.
- Same product line, same install crews as Olney.

November 1991
The Gaithersburg warehouse opens.
Mike Zanville and Steve Shaffer lease an industrial bay on Atlas Drive and start selling carpet and flooring wholesale and retail out of the warehouse.
April 2003
The Olney showroom opens.
A storefront on Village Center Drive goes in as the first retail showroom. The Zanville family has run the business ever since.
Spring 2004
Potomac opens on Tuckerman Lane.
A second showroom opens within a year of Olney. Same product line, shorter drive for customers in Bethesda, Rockville, and Chevy Chase.
2021
The awards wall begins.
Mannington names one Dealer of the Year across the country. The first plaque goes up in Olney, and three more follow over the next four years.

Mike and Steve are on the floor most days across the two showrooms. Bruce is in Potomac. Rob, Nick, and JP are in Olney alongside Mike.
Our install crews have been with us for decades. They work together daily, they know the product, and they take pride in seams you cannot find. A good carpet laid down badly is a bad floor. That is not a risk we run.
Most of our work comes from referrals or customers who’ve used us before. If that were going to change, it would have changed by now.

Mike Zanville and Steve Shaffer have known each other since childhood. They started the business out of a Gaithersburg warehouse in 1991 with one bet: do it right the first time and people come back.
Thirty years on, the same partnership still runs the business. The approach they started with on the first carpet job is the approach the team takes now, from the in-home measure through the install and whatever comes up after.
