(01)Damascus

Flooring in Damascus, MD.

Carpet, hardwood, refinishing, custom area rugs and stair runners, LVP, and laminate for upper Montgomery County: the older farmhouses and long-owned homes around Cedar Grove, Woodfield, and Clagettsville, and the large-lot subdivisions off Route 27 toward Clarksburg and Mount Airy. Our Olney showroom on Village Center Drive is the anchor; the install happens at your home.

Flooring for Damascus homes, from the Olney showroom.

Refinished oak in a Cedar Grove farmhouse, wide-plank laminate in a new Woodfield subdivision. Different homes, one Olney showroom.

Damascus is exurban Montgomery County: family farms and single-family homes on large lots, the commercial center for Cedar Grove, Woodfield, Clagettsville, Browningsville, and King's Valley out toward the Mount Airy line. Large lots mean more square footage per job, so this is whole-home carpet, hardwood, and LVP work, not condo-scale. The older farmhouses and long-owned homes around Route 27 drive most of the hardwood refinishing and dated-carpet replacement we do up here.

The newer subdivisions built from the 1980s through the 2000s, plus the builds blending toward Clarksburg, tend to favor wide-plank LVP and laminate, with finished basements and stairs that ask for area rugs and runners. Where a home has hardwood worth saving, refinishing is the high-return option, and custom rugs and stair runners are cut and bound in-house in about a week. The mix we recommend follows the room: water-prone spaces get waterproof LVP, the main and upper levels take hardwood or laminate, and bedrooms take carpet.

The Olney showroom at 18167 Village Center Drive anchors the work and is the closer drive for Damascus and the surrounding upper-county communities. It carries every line we install, and every sample is available to take home. Install crews work out of both showrooms and the Gaithersburg warehouse, so your job is assigned by the crew that fits the schedule. We come to your home in Damascus to measure, check the subfloor, and finish the floor.

(03)What we install in Damascus

Every floor we install, framed for Damascus homes. Laminate and carpet lead the list here, with hardwood, LVP, refinishing, and custom rugs right behind.

(01)Laminate

Click-lock laminate for upper-county builds.

The newer subdivisions around Damascus and toward Clarksburg, built from the 1980s through the 2000s, tend to have flat, dry, consistent upper-level subfloors, exactly the conditions a floating click-lock laminate install needs. A harder top surface than most LVP and a footfeel close to real wood, right for the upstairs, hallways, and bedrooms.

Harder top surface than most 12-to-20-mil LVP
High-resolution wood-look with registered embossing
Floats over the flat, dry upper-level subfloors in newer upper-county builds
Shaw, Mohawk, and Mannington lines

(02)Carpet

Carpet installation for Damascus homes.

On large-lot Damascus homes this is whole-home work, not a single room. The floor that lands in the bedrooms, with finished basements and stairs adding square footage. Plush, berber, patterned, and commercial. Softest for bedrooms, quieter for basements and stairs. Most in-stock carpet installs within a week.

Standard padding upgraded over spec; premium pads available
Solution-dyed nylon for pet households
Custom binding on runners and stair runners
Installation warranty backed by the manufacturer and us
Wide-plank natural oak hardwood
(03)Hardwood

Solid and engineered hardwood.

Oak, walnut, hickory, maple, birch, and American cherry. Solid for main floors, engineered for below grade. The call for the main and upper levels in older Damascus farmhouses and long-owned homes, and on the larger subdivisions out toward Mount Airy.

Solid above grade, engineered in basements
Wide plank and traditional widths
Natural, stained, and pre-finished options
Refinishable for decades

(04)Luxury Vinyl (LVP)

Waterproof LVP for the lower level.

On the newer Damascus and Clarksburg subdivisions, LVP lands on the lower level: finished basement, mudroom, and kitchen. Rigid-core LVP installs over concrete and shrugs off water, which makes it the default where water is a concern. Wide-plank, matte, looks like real wood.

Waterproof on most lines we carry
Goes down over the lower-level slab in a new-build basement
Kitchen, basement, and rental ready
Wide-plank, matte, wood-look finishes

(05)Hardwood Refinishing

Refinish the floors you already have.

Older Damascus farmhouses and homes held for decades often have hardwood worth saving. A sand and stain takes the wear off, changes the color if you want it to, and costs a fraction of replacement. Often the best return on any pre-listing floor work.

Sand, stain, and finish in place
Natural, dark, or custom color
Dust-contained sanding
Single room to whole-house scope
Bound edge detail on a custom carpet runner
(06)Area Rugs & Runners

Custom area rugs and stair runners.

Finished basements and stairs in large-lot Damascus homes are where these earn their keep. Bind a remnant into a rug, or fit a runner to a straight or curved staircase. Custom edges, wool, synthetic, or blended fiber, cut and bound in-house in about a week.

I had luxury vinyl planking installed in my entire home and so glad I did. Mike was so helpful when I was trying to choose a color and brand. The men who did the installation really knew what they were doing and cleaned up before they left.

(05)FAQ

Frequently asked questions about flooring in Damascus.

Yes. Damascus is one of the towns our Olney showroom serves first, along with Cedar Grove, Woodfield, Clagettsville, and the homes toward Clarksburg and Mount Airy. Our install crews work across upper Montgomery County regularly. The Olney showroom on Village Center Drive holds the samples; the installation happens at your home.

Our Olney showroom at 18167 Village Center Drive, in Olney. It is the closer drive for customers in Damascus and the rural communities around it, from Cedar Grove and Woodfield down toward Route 27. It is our flagship showroom and carries every line we install, with every sample available to take home. Call it at (301) 924-7331.

Older Damascus farmhouses and homes held for decades often have solid hardwood worth saving, so refinishing is usually the high-return option: a sand and stain takes the wear off for a fraction of replacement. Where carpet has dated out, whole-home replacement is straightforward, and these large-lot homes tend to carry more square footage per job than down-county houses.

On the subdivisions built from the 1980s through the 2000s, and the newer builds toward Clarksburg, we see a recurring pattern: waterproof LVP on the lower level (finished basement, mudroom, kitchen), laminate or hardwood on the main and upper levels, and carpet in the bedrooms. That mix is technically appropriate to each room rather than budget-constrained, and it is a sensible starting point for a lot of upper-county homes.

Yes. We come to your home in Damascus to measure the space, check the subfloor, and bring samples in the light of your own rooms. That matters on large-lot homes where the job runs whole-house. After we see the space and understand the full scope, we can give you an accurate timeline and estimate.

It depends on the home and the room. Older farmhouses with solid hardwood are usually best served by refinishing. On the newer subdivisions, the recurring mix is waterproof LVP on the lower level, laminate or hardwood on the main and upper levels, and carpet in the bedrooms. For finished basements, kitchens, and other water-prone rooms, we recommend waterproof LVP rather than laminate.

It varies by job, depending on the square footage, the material, and whether existing flooring has to come out first. Large-lot Damascus homes often mean more square footage per job. Most in-stock carpet installs within a week, and a floating click-lock laminate floor is walkable as soon as we leave. After the in-home measure, we give you an accurate timeline for your specific project.
